FireID are a hugely successful and proudly South African Startup mentored by Justin Stanford of Silicon Cape Fame.

For those who don’t know what “OTP” relates to in terms of the online usage of the abbreviation, it stands for One Time Password. A technology which is become increasingly popular with websites which require secure logins.

I must praise FireID for their progressive workflow, one that pretty much tries to emulate a Google-like feel.
- Flexi hours (10am – 3pm core hours)
- Free breakfast and Lunch
- employee stock options
- Walking barefoot around the office is cool… etc

Watch out for FireID in the coming months as this will soon be one of our greatest South African Startups.

a little humour?

The layout of the Venue didn’t work that well to get around and meet many people but the section that I was at had a good crowd and luckily for me they were in the travel industry so the conversation flowed well. I enjoyed the edgy presentation that Gordon Parkin (MD of Brandscape) gave, for an “old” guy he was Rad (okay, there, I used it). Then Alex van Tonder (myBrandedLife) ignited all my childhood memories as she showed the KingJames Steri Stumpie Campaign Conversation. Liked the “swords” joke . The guys from on the couch also gave a short presentation on the mediums they use to drive traffic to their websites, nice stop motion. And finally a guy from bobsforgood made us aware of the awesome initiative running on their Bobsforgood website.

My only gripe of the evening was my poor selection of seating which had a bed hanging from the ceiling, as can be seen below. Mega Fail.

All in all, an awesome evening, thanks Dave. I’ll definitely be at the next 27 Dinner and look forward to meeting you there.
