href="http://unbounce.com/what-is-unbounce/overview/" target="_blank">unbounce.com</a> that summarises and simplyfies a Marketing Funnel and the steps you should look at to increase conversion on the page.</div><div>Previously the most important measurable of website deliverables was number of hits. We now have a more accurate representation by looking at Unique users and number of pages viewed using websites such as Google Analytics. In my Opinion the next key measurable should be the conversion rate, in other words the engagement user have with your website.</div><div>Some people think of conversion only as a product sale, but as can be seen below lead generation and registration forms also count as a conversion.<br

href="http://aslamlevy.co.za/fireid-otp-startup-in-stellenbosch/" target="_blank">previous post</a>:</p><p>On Tuesday I joined a group of bloggers on a tour of Fire ID and Mxit, who are both based in the Stellenbosch Techno Park. The Tour was arranged by<a
href="http://daveduarte.co.za/" target="_blank">Dave Duarte,</a> known for amongst other  things the hugely popular <a
href="http://www.27dinner.com/" target="_blank">27 Dinners</a></p><p>FireID are a hugely successful and proudly South African Startup mentored by <a
href="http://aslamlevy.co.za/fireid-otp-startup-in-stellenbosch/twitter.com/justinstanford">Justin Stanford</a> of <a
href="http://www.siliconcape.com/" target="_blank">Silicon Cape</a> Fame.</p><p>Second on the list of Startups we visited was the  now infamous <a
href="http://www.mxitlifestyle.com/" target="_blank">Mxit</a>.</p><p>Some interesting points about the Mxit Service I picked up:<br
/> - Currently has a 19Million User Base<br
/> - Approx. 20 000 registrations per day<br
/> - Has a vested interest in education, the launch of &#8220;Tixi&#8221; shows that Mxit is serious about this.<br
/> - Mxit Xchange, the new classified section has 1.7 Million subscribers<br
/> - Mxit Evo is the first PC Client that CEO Herman Heunis deems  &#8221;Decent&#8221;</p><div

/> The biggest challenge facing them is conversion. How does one get a visitor to your site to engage with your brand, and finally purchase a product.</p><p>An Age old Strategy is the Competition Model where customers are rewarded for taking the time and/or effort to look at the products the Retailer has.</p><p>Online competitions are great as they also allow Retailers to begin a basic Customer Relationship Management strategy by collecting contact details of people entering these competitions.<br
/> Today I visited <a
href="http://www.winstuff.co.za/" target="_blank">winstuff.co.za</a> who not only list current online competitions in South Africa, but also reward visitors to their site and <a
href="http://www.facebook.com/winstuff?ref=nf" target="_blank">Facebook group</a>.</p><p>I see this Marketing Model as a win win situation for both Retailer and Customer and recommend you check out:</p><div

It was Awesome (Considered using the word “Rad”, must be Alex’s Steri Stumpie Presentation). So I rocked up at the Bombay Bicycle Club, wrote my name on a sticker, which found a temporary home on my chest, and proceeded to “mingle”</p><p>The layout of the Venue didn’t work that well to get around and meet many people but the section that I was at had a good crowd and luckily for me they were in the travel industry so the conversation flowed well. I enjoyed the edgy presentation that Gordon Parkin (MD of <a
href="http://www.brandscape.co.za" target="_blank">Brandscape</a>) gave, for an “old” guy he was Rad (okay, there, I used it). Then Alex van Tonder (<a
href="http://mybrandedlife.wordpress.com/">myBrandedLife</a>) ignited all my childhood memories as she showed the KingJames Steri Stumpie <span
style="text-decoration: line-through;">Campaign</span> Conversation. Liked the “swords” joke <img
src='http://aslamlevy.co.za/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';)' class='wp-smiley' /> . The guys from <a
href="http://www.from-the-couch.com/">on the couch</a> also gave a short presentation on the mediums they use to drive traffic to their websites, nice stop motion. And finally a guy from bobsforgood made us aware of the awesome initiative running on their <a
href="http://www.bobsforgood.com/">Bobsforgood website</a>.</p><p>My only gripe of the evening was my poor selection of seating which had a bed hanging from the ceiling, as can be seen below. <em>Mega Fail</em>.</p><p><a
